a little about me: Caroline Dunn

I am a fully qualified Winemaker and Winemaking Consultant, Internet Communicator, WordPress designer and blogger. I run a successful wine consulting business and also write about Australian wine on my blog Drink Wine…Think Wine.

My background includes many and varied experiences, from managing The Russell Hotel, Australia’s first boutique hotel in Sydney’s ‘The Rocks’, and The Bathers Pavilion, the celebrated Balmoral restaurant on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour, to becoming one of the Australian wine industry’s most highly awarded winemakers, working with iconic Australian wine brands such as Brokenwood, Chapel Hill, Annie’s Lane, Saltram and Wolf Blass, and claiming trophies in all major Australian wine shows.

I hold a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Oenolgy) with First Class Honours, and am heading into my 22nd Australian wine vintage in 2012, having worked with both large and small wineries in France, New South Wales and South Australia. I have done stints as wine show judge in both National and Regional Australian wine shows and have served on the Board of the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation (now Wine Australia), all-in-all providing me with a broad, in-depth understanding of the Australian wine industry.

While I still operate as a passionate, highly focused winemaker, I have recently been inspired to branch out into the creative world of the Web, instigating my decision to undertake a Bachelor of Arts in Internet Communications. I specialise in bringing an understanding of digital marketing and social media to the Australian wine industry, helping wine professionals gain insight into how to best manage an integrated web presence.

Please note: As I will be focused on making wine through the 2012 vintage period, web design services will be unavailable between February and May 2012.
